1.   Google Drive API Usage & Data Handling

Smart Share uses Google Sign-In to authenticate users securely.
When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information including:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Google Account ID

  • Profile photo (if available)

This information is used solely for authentication and account identification within the app. We do not access your password.

2. Google Drive API Access

Smart Share requests the following Google Drive permission:

Scope Requested:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.readonly

Why This Scope Is Requested

We request read-only access to your Google Drive strictly to:

  • Display your Drive file and folder list inside the application

  • Allow you to select files for download

  • Download selected files to your device

  • Enable file sharing to other authorized devices

  • Enable offline viewing of files within the app

This permission does not allow Smart Share to:

  • Upload new files

  • Share files without your action

  • Change Drive settings

Smart Share has read-only access only.

3. Data Usage Limitations

Smart Share complies with Google API Services User Data Policy. Specifically:

  • Are stored locally on your device

  • Are accessible only to you

You may remove offline files at any time within the app.
